The me in you

I ache for the fire in you
the kind that destroys me
the kind that makes me count my breaths
I ache for the desire in you
the kind that awakens me
the kind that slaps me into insanity
I ache for the wonder in you
the kind that accelerates my heartbeat
the kind that keeps me spellbound
I ache to surrender to you
all my dirt and filth
all my passions and possessions
I ache to find you
Beneath the façade you hide under
to tear apart the fantasy you adorn
I ache for the beast in you
the kind that makes me resign
the kind that contains my stubbornness
I ache for you
the intensity in you
the thrill in you
the me in you...

All that I want..

When my mind is utter chaos
and simplicity is all I crave
A kind smile, a warm hug,
A hot cup of tea maybe
to bring out the emotions I cave

To them I'm strong
Still, I stand along
But a hearty laugh, an intense gaze,
a content meal
Is all that I've wanted for so long

Wanderlust is waiting
and yes, I'll follow the way
until then a star studded night,
a hand to hold, a soothing melody
I need before I get away

So much more I hope and wish for
Good and bad, nasty and nice
But until I get away, this will suffice.

The experience that Troika was...

Yes, the title says 'Troika' not Troika 2015. Because Troika has been a part of me for all the four years of my being in BMCC. It hasn't been 11th, 12th, FY and so on, but rather Troika 2012, Troika 2013, Troika 2014 and the best of all Troika 2015. I might seem biased here, calling Troika 2015 the best, like a mother calling her child the best but hey!, she knows he is the best :D
I bid adieu to Troika this year, which understandably is a surprise to most of the people I know but I need to move on because Troika will always find better people but I might not find a better way to spend my college life hereon if I remain engulfed in the mesmerizing experience that Troika offers every year.
I have learnt a lot. To speak, to write, to understand, to follow, to lead, to let go and to hold on, all thanks to Troika. I was naive, childish, not easily likeable (still am for some), too chirpy and worst of all, insecure of my talents. My seniors never made me aware of these things, only encouraged the good in me. Back then, I wouldn't realize that, now I do. I cannot be as awesome but I hope I could help atleast one person the way they did. I hope I made Troika mean something more than just a fest to atleast one person. Now that I have known what it is like to create what you believe in, I even understand those I couldn't back then. But that's all useless past story.
Coming back to Troika 2015- For the best years of our life ( Tagline credits: Anub George), it has been worth going through all of it- the pain of the past, the anxiety of the future and the final verdict.
I am proud of myself, not for pulling it off, but for keeping those people around me who made it possible. Thank you Georgy, I have no words for what you did just to have my back for all these months. I know it meant a lot more to you but the fact that you started to support me will always stay with me for as long as I know you  (No, you are not getting rid of me anytime soon).
Aditya Kedari, we are proud of you :* And trust me, no one could have done it better, keep up the Troika tradition :)
Umang Goel, Vinit Rajani and Shardul Amrute How on earth did I find you people? Thank you for having faith in me and being patient when I was completely unbearable.
Akash Jagtap and Vedant Joshi, I got you back, and I couldn't be happier. It has been terrible losing contact and I hope we dont do that anymore now that we are aware of the bond we share.
Viraj Ashtekar, I hope you become a world class designer or something and I get to brag about it!
When the core kept bragging about their teams, I always smiled, because 'my team' was 200 people strong and the efforts of those who worked their asses off haven't gone unnoticed. Pinky promise. :p
I started off to give back to Troika and because we disappointed Shaiz, it rather turned out to be a lifelong experience, one that taught me one final thing, To believe in my people.
This is a BIG THANK YOU to all those 200 lovely people out there who made my dream for Troika come true. 1568 particpants! A footfall of 5000+! Vir Das! 4 PR rounds! And a budget lower than ever :D
Could we get anymore badass? Yes, and I'll wait for all of you to one-up me next year, accept the challenge you retards, I'll be rooting for you!
......and with a teary eye, I say goodbye to the experience that Troika was!

Just another spark

It was a morning to cherish, cool winds and warm sun! She was happy to be on time for college and she saw him. There he was, all self assured and confident. He intimidated her in more than one ways. And yet, there was no other place she'd rather be at that time. Neva was always so confused around him although she was the kind of person who knew exactly what to expect from life. She had never been the head-turner but she had a very distinguished personality, the kind of aura that made people envy her for no apparent reason. Of course she wasn't mesmerizing to everyone but once someone witnessed that side of her's she could never really be forgotten.
She was aware of it, the effect she could have on people. but her own insecurities would prove otherwise at times. She had had enough experience to know what she really wanted and had almost lost the hope of finding someone who'd make her head swirl.
But Dhruv, he was different, so unlike the guys she had been with. He was breathtaking and yet so at ease with it. He too knew what effect he had on people around him. And was a little more aware of himself than Neva could be. But what intrigued Neva the most was the fact that he was smart and he flaunted it shamelessly.
Unlike the nerds who tried hard to repress their intelligence, he cherished it.
Neva herself was more than just a pretty face and always craved for a company alike. It wasn't like she never met smart people but she just couldn't find a person who had the same emotional and intellectual wavelength. Dhruv somehow just did. She could just chat with him about anything and everything and there was so much to learn from him.
All that intelligence also created a lot of friction between them. But Neva unrepentantly loved the sparks that followed.
Every passing day, she would become more and more aware of what happened to her around Dhruv and she struggled to avoid it, but it was already too late. To Neva, Dhruv seemed interested but it wasn't enough for her to do something about it.
The attraction just never ceased to grow. It was never an option for Neva to confront him and get it over with. There was just too much at stake. The new found friendship was holding her back.
One evening, over a cup of coffee and a conversation, Dhruv smiled at her and it was the most dazzling smile Neva had ever witnessed. At that moment, Neva had an irrepressible urge to embrace him and she had to fight it back with a tightened fist. That was when she realised it wasn't mere Infatuation. Love, maybe not! But it definitely wasn't something that could be ignored anymore.

To be continued....
(Curious to know what happens? Post your comments for me to continue.) :)

Escape

I need to escape
to the world that does not demand
where being myself is not a sin
where my dreams can survive.
I need to escape where I can breath
The right and wrong, where, is irrelevant
where the greys are celebrated
where there is no obligation of explanation
I need to escape where life is abundant
to the soothing melody of oblivion
where love is not the sacred shackle of purity
where there is no obligation of definition
Escape, is that the only way?
I can succumb to delusion,
I can embrace the situation
But I need to escape,
Escape to  death.

The stereotype called love

Jay left for college at his usual time. He was late again for the train and he couldn't help but get irritated with himself. This was a part of his routine though. He resolved to make up for the lost time during the lunch break and took the next train.
For those who knew Jay, he was an ordinary, fun- loving and attractive guy. But for those who truly knew Jay, he was a fighter, a survivor and yet unaffected by all the turmoil of his past. He carried an untold story, a beautiful one. Only Jay knew and realised that he wasn't the hero of his past. The feisty damsel, who held his hand and his heart throughout, was.
As fate would have it, Jay was in love with someone he might never end up with. But love had touched him once and it left more than just a mark forever. The beauty who had taken away Jay's breath was now in the shackles of reality and Jay was a thousand feet away from her. It was best for them to be apart though, to get back to reality and find life. Oh how he wished he could! Jay could never really get enough of her, her name, her voice, her thoughts...her smile when she saw Jay. He knew she was was as much in love, he knew she was as perplexed, but he also knew it wasn't in their best interests. Both of them had accepted the actuality and yet when they faced each other after years, it would be nothing short of magic.
The train dropped him to his station and the crowd got him back to his senses. He smiled for the first time that day. he knew that it was going to hurt but he was glad that he could still embrace her memories. He was happily and painfully in love. He need not believe in the stereotype called love. So what if the beauty of love and the enchantment of her smile was short-lived, love for him was Leah and would always be!

‘Nobody’ is perfect!!!

Interviewing people is fun. You meet new people, listen to their stories, get acquainted to various lifestyles, and most of all, you make new friends. I enjoy the whole process without any buts. And since I like it better than anything else, I was quizzed upon whom to interview this week. I consulted a few friends, asked around and even put up an ad on OLX but alas, to no avail.
I was romancing my depression, when I met “Nobody”.  Nobody seemed like a real fun and ‘not so interesting’ person. So I decided this is it! I was going to feature Nobody this week. I asked Nobody for the permission and we had a long conversation on Nobody’s life. Turns out, Nobody went to ‘not so important' school and completed higher education from ‘ordinary' college. Nobody proudly bragged about the ‘unimportant’ achievements throughout Nobody’s life.
I had started questioning myself if I had made the right decision since Nobody was a nobody. But I suddenly got to see a whole new side to this ‘not so cool’ personality. Nobody is a person with dreams, wings to fly, people to love, relatives to make proud, friends to hang out with and most of all the conviction to be more than just a nobody. I asked suspiciously, “What is it like, being yourself?”, and to my surprise nobody gave a brilliant answer, “I know I am not the coolest person one will ever come across. I have a mediocre life and an ordinary lifestyle but I have my aspirations. People just don’t find that very important and dismiss my dreams. To them, I’d like to say that my dreams aren’t your baggage, they’re my wings to escape you.”
I’m certainly in awe of Nobody by now. We usually do not across someone who celebrates being mediocre and ordinary. Nobody does! Nobody observes how everyone is constantly busy trying to impress and outsmart everyone by having that one different thing to show off. Little do they know that being themselves is the only way to be unique.
While I’m still awestruck by the simplicity and the beauty of Nobody’s thoughts, my cynicism reaches a new high! Why you ask, Because Nobody is a “terribly real thing in this terribly false world”. I wish there was someone like Nobody who’d understand the concept of being nobody! Sadly, nobody is  Nobody!

P.S. There is a lot of pun sprinkled throughout this ‘interview’. Feel free to interpret as you please.
